Eskimå (1953)

This is the story of every-day home-life of the families in a typical Eskimo village. We see their building and hunting activities in the summer. In the winter the families go underground, and the father carves and makes hunting tools while the mother sews for the family. On the occasional breaks in the weather, the whole village turns out to gather fuel, get water, hunt and fish. The blizzard returns and the natives again go underground. They celebrate by making Eskimo "ice cream". Spring is celebrated by a "mask dance" - the Eskimo dance to their gods, and they dance for pure fun, thus completing their pattern of work and play.
