It’s 1968. Men are in charge and the world is burning. In other words, not much has changed since 411 BCE, when Aristophanes wrote “Lysistrata.” In that work, the heroine Lysistrata wanted to end the twenty-year war between Athens and Sparta by persuading the women to deny the men sex. When a modern-day traveling theatre company takes a production of Aristophanes’ play on tour, it’s not long before the cast start seeing their own lives and relationships through fresh eyes.
